The Wheelbarrow Sessions journey started way before it even had a name to it. I wrote a couple of posts on my personal blog while I was still in formal employment that I’m sharing here over the next few weeks because they’re still as relevant as ever.

I had a review meeting recently where someone commented that it’s so easy to get caught up in doing the work that we never think we’re getting anything done.

We’re so deep into solving the next issue, dealing with the next crisis, that we never stop long enough to raise our heads from the trenches, look around and acknowledge just how much ground we’ve already covered.

Lately I feel like I’ve been waking up with my fists in the air already in fight mode and going to bed the very same way battling through the night.

It’s exhausting.

Sigh.

I’m exhausted.

So I’m taking a much needed moment.

A moment of pause to remember who God is.

A moment of pause to remember just how much He has already accomplished in me and through me.

Because sometimes we need to look back at how far we’ve come to get the strength and confidence to move forward.

The testimony of my past is the prophecy of my future.

I don’t want to get so caught up in doing stuff – however wonderful and meaningful the stuff is – that I forget to just be.

Be still and just breathe.

Be still and know He is Immanuel – God with me.
